Striking while the iron was hot, the Pythons upgraded their first two years’ worth of instant-classic setpieces and routines for the big screen with the expert guidance of their main television series director, Ian MacNaughton. Also making the leap are Terry Gilliam’s animation pieces and distaff players Carol Cleveland and Connie Booth (then Mrs. John Cleese).
