Screened September 3–16, 2021

Anne (Deragh Campbell, I Used to Be Darker) hasn’t been the same since the jump. While skydiving for her best friend Sara’s bachelorette party, the 27-year-old felt focused, free, above it all. Back on the ground, the pressures of her daily life threaten to overwhelm her. As the stressful circumstances mount, Anne prepares for another jump. From a rip-roaring skydive to moments of quiet reverie, director Kazik Radwanski (TowerHow Heavy This Hammer) captures Anne’s experience with an unflinching directness, a volatile mix of Dardenne brothers immediacy and Cassavetes naturalism. And yet even from this privileged vantage point, it’s impossible to predict what Anne will do next. A Cinema Guild release

Official Selection: Toronto International Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, AFI Fest

A film by Kazik Radwanski

Microbudget indie filmmaking at its most powerful.

Jessica Kiang, Variety

The spirit of John Cassavetes is alive and well in Radwanski’s approach, and Campbell delivers as a next-gen Gena Rowlands.”
