In this European-set romantic drama, Pacino plays a celebrated Formula One driver whose controlled, reserved life is disturbed by the fatal crash of a fellow racer and then completely upended by an uneasy and perplexing love affair with capricious, spontaneous Marthe Keller. An atypical and little-known entry in the Pacino canon that deserves revisiting.
