Has-been rock star Kris Kristofferson is forced by narc Gene Hackman to unload 100 keys of grass over the course of a weekend. Stanton is indelible in his first substantial role as Kristofferson’s wasted musician compadre, turning up in his bathtub and then joining him for a raucous night on the town with Viva and Joy Bang that doesn’t end well.
