Upper West Side bookseller Amy Irving insists she’s contented with her career and not-yet-divorced boyfriend Jeroen Krabbé. But regardless, grandma Reizl Bozyk (a delight even when sleeping) has matchmaker Sylvia Miles fix her up with Lower East Side pickle seller Peter Riegert. Susan Sandler’s adaptation of her own play is winningly opened up for the screen across NYC. Musician Suzzy Roche plays Irving’s bud, and harmonizes on the soundtrack with her sister act The Roches.
