In this riotous lesbian riff on Pasolini’s Teorema that deserves be a cult classic, the incomparable Sandra Bernhard stars as an American golf pro in Australia seducing her way through a bourgeois family and country-club set on her way to becoming a suburban mayor. “Gives us delightfully incoherent dream sequences, bouts of strip miniature golf, some hilarious lampooning of the new-age mentality, and one of my favorite performances by a dog” per Jonathan Rosenbaum—not to mention the screen debut of a young Rose Byrne.
