Deeply affectionate and disarmingly frank, this work of non-fiction vérité from the filmmakers of Mala Mala follows the titular Dina, a strong willed middle-aged woman on the autism spectrum living in suburban Philadelphia. Eager to move forward with her adoring fiancé Scott (who has Asperger’s), the two have significant relationship hurdles to clear before tying the knot—particularly when it comes to intimacy. Capturing everything from candid beachside conversations to a rowdy bachelorette party with empathy and humor (and with a lilting score by actor Michael Cera), Dina is an irresistibly sweet-but-not-so-simple love story.
