Screened July 26–29, 2018

For the first of their back-to-back modern-day Dracula movies, Gibson and screenwriter Don Houghton hit upon the idea of killing off Christopher Lee’s Count at the hands of Peter Cushing’s Van Helsing—and resurrecting him a century later in London’s groovy Chelsea district to bedevil the latter’s descendants, including Cushing (again) and Stephanie Beacham. With genre icon Caroline Munro (Maniac), real-life Mick Jagger flame Marsha Hunt, and psychedelic band Stoneground.
