Once described as a prodigy, tennis player Thomas (César-winner Alex Lutz) never reached the career highs he had hoped for in his professional career. About a decade over the hill at the age of 37 (average retirement age for professional tennis players is around 27), Thomas decides to return to the French Open at Rolland Garros with a shattered knee but a not-yet-shattered spirit. Although his wife, Eve (Ana Girardot), and mother, Judith (Oscar-nominee Kristin Scott Thomas), advise him that the odds are against him, Thomas perseveres with the focus and obsessive drive that comes with unlikely second chances. Tackling his own demons as well as the demands of intense competition, Thomas also faces off with a young tennis genius who disturbingly reminds him of his younger self. A Film Movement release
