The most awarded film at Sundance this year, this poignant and spectacularly shot documentary observes the rigorous routines of beekeeper Hatidze, who lives in near-complete solitude (aside from her ailing mother) in the Balkan Mountains. When a large and disruptive family plant themselves next door, the welcome neighborly company gives way to personal and practical tensions as their commercially-oriented approach to beekeeping threatens to undermine the carefully calibrated ecosystem Hatidze has been maintaining for years.
In Turkish and Macedonian with English subtitles.
