Reuniting with Audrey Hepburn and Hugh Griffith, Wyler rode the wave of ’60s caper comedies: Hepburn is the straight-arrow daughter obliged to plan a theft at a Paris art museum in order to keep shady father Griffith out of prison, and Peter O’Toole is the professional thief she recruits to pull off the heist. This bauble’s gifted artisans include composer John Williams, production designer Alexandre Trauner, and frequent Hepburn cinematographer Charles Lang.
