The tide may be turning in 1944, but Paris remains at high risk from the Nazis’ scorched-earth inclinations and Resistance fighters, including Delon, have their hands full on multiple fronts. Delon re-upped with his Purple Noon director Clément as part of an all-star cast including Gert Frobe, Orson Welles, Kirk Douglas as Patton—and an appropriately huge French delegation including Jean-Paul Belmondo, Yves Montand, Charles Boyer, Jean-Pierre Cassel, Leslie Caron, et plus. Co-written by Francis Ford Coppola and Gore Vidal.
