For his first non-Python feature as director, Terry Gilliam co-scripts an adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s poem, with Michael Palin starring as a medieval peasant dragooned into battle against the titular fearsome creature. Gilliam brought unexpected grit and texture to the action, an approach he would finesse in later directorial works. Look and listen quickly for Gilliam, Terry Jones, and Dave (Darth Vader) Prowse.
