For his most ambitious project, Jaeckin co-scripted an adaptation of D.H. Lawrence’s controversial novel, reteaming with frequent cinematographer Robert Fraisse and reuniting with Emmanuelle star Sylvia Kristel, as an aristocrat in 1920s Britain whose WWI vet husband Shane Briant pushes her away and into the arms of earthy gamekeeper Nicholas Clay. With Anthony Head (later of TV’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Bessie Love, and Elizabeth Spriggs.
