Cabaret was still playing in theaters when Fosse re-convened its leading lady Liza Minnelli and the songwriting team of John Kander and Fred Ebb, conceiving a unique television event. He directed and choreographed the star in performance, with the resulting live concert shot on film by eight cameras on May 31st, 1972 and broadcast on NBC. The group then all won Emmys, with Fosse also earning a Directors Guild of America Award. Watch out for audience members including Tony Bennett, Marisa Berenson, Vincente Minnelli, and Gwen Verdon among others.
