Silk robes and bare breasts abound in this tragicomedy of epic proportions set in a brothel pre-WWII. Freckle-faced rube Giancarlo Giannini comes to Rome on a mission to kill Mussolini with the help of politically active prostitute Mariangela Melato. But love gets in the way of anarchy when he falls for one of her fellow ladies of the night.
