Screenwriter Tudor Gates continues the lesbian vampire “Karnstein Trilogy” initiated by The Vampire Lovers with this 19th-century-set tale starring Denmark’s Yutte Stensgaard, taking over the role of Carmilla from Ingrid Pitt. Resurrected with a little help from a ritual sacrifice and adopting the name Mircalla, she insinuates herself into a girls’ finishing school in search of fresh blood, seducing men in general and women in particular.
