Slyly affectionate references are made, and classic clips excerpted, to play up the casting of Price—and of chiller compatriots Peter Cushing and Robert Quarry—as a veteran horror movie star returning to his signature role after a real-life nervous breakdown, then doubting his own sanity once bloody murders recreated from his movies ensue.
