Embedding himself with modeling agency Zoli Management in its East 60s townhouse, just around the corner from Bloomingdale’s, documentarian Wiseman observes the handpicked women (including future DKNY creative director Lynn Kohlman) and men who were among the faces of the New Wave sweeping the fashion world and whose workdays revolve around art and artifice. Covering photo sessions and commercial shoots, the camera captures the meticulous process by which advertising imagery is finessed.
