Two spacecraft land on a deserted mist-enshrouded planet; one of the crews, possessed by an alien force, turns kill-crazy and returns from the dead to attack their surviving comrades. Never mind that there are no vampires per se—the Italian title translates as “Terror in Space”—Bava’s magnificent sole science-fiction film is a clear influence on the likes of Alien, with an eerie tone and unique visual style—shoestring budget be damned.
