In 1962 doctor Sidney Poitier recounts to young psychiatrist Peter Falk his experiences 20 years earlier treating a Nazi sympathizer (Bobby Darin) whose development of racist and sociopathic views are explored in flashbacks. This Stanley Kramer production, a rare Hollywood film to deal head-on with hate groups, is marked by Cornfield’s expressionist flourishes.
