Three mavericks spin erotic tales with twists. In Emmanuelle director Jaeckin’s Isle of Sirens, a stranded sailor lands in a seeming paradise, with women galore; Terayama’s The Grass Labyrinth skis through imagery and memories unlocked from a nursery-rhyme tune; and Borowczyk adapts a Guy de Maupassant story for The Wardrobe, in which a wealthy man grows suspicious of his paid companion.
