A ’70s road movie with driving instructor Alan Arkin leaving the plot-driving to drifters Sally Kellerman and Mackenzie Phillips, who shanghai him into a journey from L.A. to New Orleans. Dick Richards captures the boisterous comedy and poignant rue throughout the trio’s encounters along the way, with Stanton as an embittered one-legged Korean War vet.
