With Zero Mostel on board to recreate his Tony Award-winning role from the Broadway production of Eugene Ionesco’s absurdist comedy, top theater director O’Horgan—in a rare film foray—had the inspiration to reunite the actor with Gene Wilder, his partner-in-crime from The Producers.
