Her name is actually Susan Barton (Karen Carlson, in her first movie, before starring as one of The Student Nurses), newly arrived in NYC from Ohio. Susan finds work as a dancer, gets a roommate, and finds herself trapped in a series of soul-sapping “dates.” Jacoby (also producer) co-scripted with William Dorsey Blake, and the guerrilla filmmaking affords visits to night spots such as The Purple Onion (now a 7-Eleven).
