Jim Brown confidently swaggered into blaxploitation territory, packing heat in a characteristically disreputable B movie from Jack Starrett. As the title hero, a former Green Beret, Brown avenges his parents’ death Stateside at the hands of gangsters, then further sticks it to mobster Rip Torn by stealing away moll Stella Stevens and cooperating with the government in heading to Mexico to bust open a whole syndicate. With Cameron Mitchell, Marlene Clark, and a Billy Preston theme song.
