Cattet and Forzani’s new movie Let the Corpses Tan reunites the leads of Philippe Grandrieux’s film, Marc Barbé and Elina Löwensohn, who were first paired in this thematically and formally dissonant thriller, as—respectively—a serial killer and a hitchhiker he picks up. This was Grandrieux’s first fiction feature, following documentary and video works; the startling opening sequences introduced viewers to his radical aesthetic.
