Roberto Benigni romps through Blake Edwards’ final Panther feature as Clouseau’s illegitimate (and no less incompetent) gendarme son Jacques Gambrelli, who stumbles onto a major international kidnapping and comes to embrace his wacky heritage. Edwards gracefully and playfully concludes chapters in the series’ cracked mythology, all the while continuing to traffic in dialogue-driven misunderstandings and escalating comedic stunts.
