The virtues of this tongue-in-cheek sci-fi adventure from veteran journeyman director Lamont Johnson (The Last American Hero) are most apparent in 3-D—the movie is shot and scored by no less than Frank Tidy and Elmer Bernstein, respectively. In 2136, overlord Michael Ironside holds three women hostage on a disease-contaminated planet, so it’s swashbuckler Peter Strauss and feisty Molly Ringwald to the rescue.
