Before making his cult favorite Jawbreaker, Stein co-wrote and directed this kinder and gentler dramedy spotlighting veteran actresses Park Overall (Empty Nest, Biloxi Blues) and Veronica Cartwright (The Children’s Hour, The Witches of Eastwick) as, respectively, a runaway wife and her old friend-turned-Vegas performer who take three callow yet self-questioning young men (played by Freddie Prinze Jr., Jamie Kennedy, and Steven Petrarca) under their wings.
