In the most spectacular of seven adaptations of a classic British Empire ripping yarn, a disgraced lieutenant travels to the Sudan in disguise to rescue the three fellow officers who branded him a coward. With its Sudan locations, Alexander Korda production values, and superior Technicolor camerawork, this is stiff-upper-lip Imperialist adventure at its best.
