Something is amiss with missing businesswoman Jean Brooks, and when younger sister Kim Hunter (in her first film) journeys from upstate to search for her in a fraught Greenwich Village, she may not like what she finds. Cat People producer Val Lewton, star Tom Conway, and screenwriter DeWitt Bodeen reunited for another atmospheric chiller, with their editor Robson here kicking off his directing career and Charles O’Neal (father of Ryan O’Neal) finalizing the script.
