Visconti’s The Witch Burned Alive is about celebrity vanity and envy; comedy king Totò and Ninetto Davoli are father and son in Pasolini’s The Earth As Seen from the Moon; and in De Sica’s An Evening Like the Others, Mangano is a housewife trying to spark hubby… Clint Eastwood!
