Harry Dean Stanton plays a patriarch in a bolo tie who shares his rural Kansas mansion with adult children Suzy Amis and Crispin Glover in this “disturbingly comic portrait of the nuclear family nuked” (Rolling Stone). The titular tornado turns out to be the least of anyone’s worries when the kids decide to track down their estranged mother. With cameos from Tim Robbins and William Burroughs.
