Staten Island striver Melanie Griffith is engaged to Alec Baldwin and commutes by ferry to Manhattan each day with got-your-back buddy Joan Cusack. After dodging sexual harassment at her financial firm, she’s transferred to serve as assistant to exec Sigourney Weaver and has to double down betting on herself as she and her boss’s beau Harrison Ford fall for each other. Kevin Wade’s vibrant script is perfectly honed by Nichols and brought to life by a splendid cast with comedic heart and bite. Carly Simon won an Academy Award for her original song “Let the River Run.”
