This September, the Quad Cinema will be opening Black Zombie. The documentary highlights the unsettling origins of the modern zombie movie and shows how Black spiritual traditions have been distorted and sensationalized in pop culture. Director Maya Annik Bedward has programmed four films that helped inspire her documentary to both spotlight and reconsider alongside the themes featured in Black Zombie.
