In this second of three independent collaborations with her husband Paul Almond, Bujold plays a devout young woman who moves to Montreal and spends her idle hours fantasizing about Jesus Christ. After joining the local choir, her passion becomes increasingly stoked when she is courted by priest Donald Sutherland—but her faith is tested after a tragic accident.
