Broke, cynical bail-bondsman Jack Lemmon springs gypsy former flame Bujold from jail where she’s facing prison for attempted murder. Amorous feelings reawakening, he tries to get her off the hook while she goes on the lam after duping his crooked assistant James Woods. Unpredictably shifting mood from disenchantment to romance to levity to resignation, this is a rarely screened film from unsung veteran Bay Area auteur John Korty, the director of Funnyman and Riverrun.
