When high-schooler Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is transported from 1985 back to 1955 with the help of an eccentric physicist (Christopher Lloyd) and the now-iconic DeLorean time machine, he finds himself awkwardly in the middle of his parents’ meet-cute—and the object of his teenage mom’s affections. Recognizing the problems that would result in disrupting the space-time continuum—not to mention the moral issues that could arise if he were to date his own mother—Marty instead plays matchmaker for young mom and dad (Lea Thompson & Crispin Glover) to ensure his future remains intact.
