Bujold is at the height of her powers playing not one, but two roles in De Palma’s moody, melodramatic homage to Hitchcock’s Vertigo: the wife of real-estate developer Cliff Robertson who winds up kidnapped and killed, and the beguiling Italian woman whose uncanny resemblance to Robertson’s dead spouse fuels his morbid obsession. Featuring a script by Paul Schrader and a swelling score from Bernard Herrmann.
