Breathlessly oversold on the poster as “Edgar Allan Poe’s Ultimate Orgy!” yet faithfully carrying the Poe imprimatur of all three stories. Jane Fonda and brother Peter team for (her then-husband) Vadim’s tale of a princess and a horse; Terence Stamp stars for Fellini as debauched actor Toby Dammit; and, for Malle, Alain Delon incarnates monstrous William Wilson, whose doppelgänger (also played by Delon) may be even worse. Narrated by—who else?—Vincent Price.
