Based on his play of the same name, Richard Day’s Straight-Jacket follows the story of “America’s most eligible bachelor” Guy Stone (Matt Letscher). With clear parallels to Rock Hudson, Stone is a closeted, successful Hollywood actor who must marry studio secretary Sally (Carrie Preston) in order to conceal his homosexuality. Guy Stone superfan Sally has no idea her marriage is a sham, though, and Guy’s life is turned upside-down by a chance meeting with an idealistic, and terribly handsome, young writer.
