Frank Sinatra reunited with frequent director Douglas for one of the first R-rated major-studio movies, playing an NYC cop investigating the violent deaths of men in the LGBTQ community—while wife Remick has additional issues to deal with as their marriage founders. The eclectic supporting cast includes Robert Duvall (who would later star in a miniseries, as Dwight Eisenhower, opposite Remick), boxing great Sugar Ray Robinson, and Sinatra crony Jilly Rizzo.
