Las Vegas chorus girl Taylor and piano player Warren Beatty become an item and shack up together; he gambles to win enough money for relocation to NYC while she gambles that her affair with married man Charles Braswell might pay off. The Vegas setting notwithstanding, the film was largely shot in Paris with no less than Henri Decaë (The 400 Blows) as cinematographer. Frank Gilroy adapted his own Broadway play into what would be Stevens’ final film.
