A pulse-pounding pursuit over, across, and through the city’s boroughs runs all night long once the titular street collective is wrongfully accused (“The Warriors did it! The Warriors did it!”) of murdering a unifying gang leader, unleashing multiple groups out for blood. Memorably costumed by Bobbie Mannix (Xanadu) and photographed on location by Andrew Laszlo (Newsies), with Pauline Kael citing the movie as “bursting with energy…in crisp, bright Day-Glo colors against the terrifying New York blackness.”
