Up to His Ears (Les tribulations d’un Chinois en Chine)

1965, France/Italy, 104m, DCP

Upping the ante directly following That Man from Rio, de Broca and Jean-Paul Belmondo gleefully threw themselves into a can-you-top-this? romp with stunt work and thrills so off-the-chain they’re worthy of Jackie Chan in his prime. Ennui nudges wealthy Belmondo to end it all with an insurance policy and attendant contract kill, but when he gets a new lease on life in Hong Kong after encountering (real-life Belmondo paramour) Ursula Andress, the couple must flee his hired assassin.
