No comedy film franchise has conjured movie magic quite like the sparkling—literally!—Pink Panther series. The wit and style of writer/director Blake Edwards alchemized with the ebullient brilliance of actor Peter Sellers as the magnificently maladroit Inspector Jacques Clouseau to create the perfect blend of sophisticated verbal humor and laugh-out-loud physical comedy. We’re proud to present five classic Sellers/Edwards collaborations, plus 1968’s Bud Yorkin-helmed adventure starring Alan Arkin, and Edwards’ final effort featuring Roberto Benigni as Clouseau’s son. Come for the quotable lines and “topping the topper” gags, stay for the slinky animated feline while Henry Mancini’s scores transport you into a world of slapstick and Euro-swank.
Organized in collaboration with Jason Simos of the Peter Sellers Appreciation Society.
